In this era of advancing technology we may be forgetting how to communicate both with our customers and friends and family in the old fashioned way by sending letters and cards.

I recently realised that perhaps I have been over using technology and yes I have been sending out E-cards, but its not the same as the real thing. firstly they often get lost and secondly the receiver needs to print them out if they want to display them.

I think more joy is added, when a person gets a card and looks at the postmark to see where it comes from and then at the handwriting, to try and guess the sender before opening.

I have also started sending out cards to my customers, knowing that a lot of emails do not get through as users often change their Email accounts, but I always have a delivery address for my products.

Sending thank you cards to customers has resulted in an increase of reorders, and I believe it is a useful and forgotten tool which in these difficult economic times can make a difference.

63 people attend a Buffet luncheon which launched Sonoran Bloom Nopalea in Orlando hosted by Michael Ellison, local affiliates shared the Sonoran Bloom experience with others. A Number of new Affiliates were signed up after the luncheon

Mitch Lover a top distributor attended the luncheon with 7 guests and they were so impressed with the product and the testimonial of one affiliate who recounted a story of paying forward and giving someone who had type 2 diabetes, and was in great pain before trying Nopalea, and after 5 days the pain and tenderness has decreased and she is now able to exercise with out pain. All seven people signed up.

Web Rhino.com is Al Turnquist re-launch of Mentors on a Mission -  Why Start and Never Quit which was shut down even before it has ever got going,  Whystart 2.0 was partly a reincarnation of Jaguar marketing and Mentors on A mission internet marketing training and has left hundreds of disillusioned marketers wondering what Al Turnquist is doing next, yes he is  a master salesman able to sell ask to Eskimos and sand to Arabs but as a businessman he is not to be trusted.

Today I went into the back office of Whystart 2 in order to attend a weekly training on SEO and the first inkling of trouble was the site banner saying the site is now web Rhyno, of course the training was not available and reading some of the  FAQ’s it seems mentors on a mission has shut the site down.

I originally bought into Jag for $4,000 – now it’s no longer available.  Then my favourite site, Why Start was improved and expanded, however it now cost $20 a month.  I understand that WhyStart 2.0 owned by Mentors On a Mission has closed it's doors (went out of business),  under Web Rhyno –  I have to upgrade to pro for $99 and $55 a month come Feb. 2010. 

So what this means is that all marketing efforts for this site since the start of the year are lost, now depending how you value your time this could amount to  $12,000 in time and effort,. and what is the reward, another site to try and market, but gone are all of the attractive benefits.

AS I wave goodbye to my $12,000 investment I can only thank god that I have one of the best set of marketing tools  still available and that is Veretekk Web  2.0  which is a secure company  of  over 11 years standing led by Tom Prendergast, who cares for the people he is in business with...

Weight Loss - Diet is a crucial factor in weight loss but selecting right diet plan is more important. This post considers the General Motors Diet plan and how it might help in losing weight.

General Motors Diet, commonly known as GM diet was originally developed for employees and dependents of General Motors, Inc. and was intended for their exclusive use during the 1980’s. The GM diet makers also believed that it would improve attitudes and emotions because of its cleansing effects in the body. The seven day plan is though to burn more calories than the body receives. Theoretically, yes. But the human system is rather is rather complicated. The diet contains no alcohol, and you must drink 10 glasses of water per day.

• All fruits except bananas on day one.
• All vegetables on day two
• A mix of fruits and vegetables on day three
• Bananas and milk on day four
• Beef and tomatoes on day five
• Beef and vegetables on day six
• Brown rice, fruit juices and vegetables on day seven

Beef has been replaced with rice. A repeat is advised for further weight loss. Pulses are disallowed because they are high in calories. Recipes have been made up revolving around the GM diet.

On the positive side,the GM diet is ok for a week if done occasionally to cleanse the system. Only those people who can withstand the low energy intake should use it for longer. On the negative side, when on such a low energy diet the body tends to hold back the fat reserve and burns muscle for energy that is requirement for daily activity. The second and subsequent attempts at weight loss become more and more difficult because the basic rate at which the body burns calories (BMR) slows down. Following this diet repeatedly can deplete the body of energy and some important nutrients when needed. Many followers of GM diet have steadily gained back their weight, so it is not a recommended diet.

Keep a food diary Tracking what you eat is essential. Try this for a week and analyse your eating habits. There are some great online food journals and food calorie counters to help you with this.

Monitor your health This is especially the case when following a restrictive weight loss plan like no carb plans for instance. Its important to monitor lipid profiles (blood fats including cholesterol and triglycerides). Very high protein plans can also effect kidney performance. If you haven’t been following a very healthy diet I would be careful about shifting to a diet that suggested cutting all carbs and only eating lean protein foods. I would check in with a doctor before starting any weight loss plan.

Many people in the USA are overweight and some more  so than others. Most people know that being overweight is bad for their health. so what are the main reasons that cause their weight loss plans to fail.

There are so many diets around that there should be something that suits anyone, however the truth is it takes discipline to diet and if counting calories and measuring portions is not your cup of tea you are not going to succeed.

Exercise is a time consuming activity especially if you take into account the time to travel to a gym or health club and the costs can quickly add up. Once again discipline comes into play.

People also look for incentives to help them reach their goal, perhaps the promise of a special holiday or gift from a spouse is a good enough incentive
